3 days from Marrakech to Merzouga desert

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

Your day will begin with departure from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 a.m., heading towards the majestic Dadès gorges. You will cross the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, before reaching the famous Telouat kasbah. An impressive testimony to Moroccan history.

Then, you will head to the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Where you will have the opportunity to experience traditional Berber architecture and culture.

Your journey will continue to local film studios and the Taourirt kasbah in Ouarzazate, where you will immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Moroccan cinema.

After enjoying an invigorating lunch, you will take the road again towards the Dadès gorges. On the way, you will stop in the palm grove of Skoura to visit the magnificent kasbah of Amridil. A remarkable example of the region’s traditional architecture.

You will then continue through the valley of roses to Kelaa Mgouna, famous for its rose production. Then, you will follow the Dades valley to the gorges, where you will spend the night in a local hotel. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Berber dinner and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of this picturesque region before retiring for the night.

Day 2: Dades gorges – Todra gorges – Merzouaga

After a tasty breakfast, your day will begin with a visit to the impressive Dadès gorges. Where you can admire the spectacular rock formations sculpted by nature over time.

Then, you will head towards the Todra gorges , where you will stop at the Berber village of Boumalne to enjoy a panoramic view of the Dadès valley. Offering breathtaking landscapes.

Your journey will then take you to Tinghir. Where you will have the opportunity to visit the old Jewish quarter and learn about the fascinating history of the area.

Then, you will continue your route towards the Todra gorges. Where you can walk and admire the impressive rock walls that rise more than 300 meters high.

After exploring the gorges, you will continue your journey towards the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Passing through the villages of Tinjdad and Jorf. Along the way, you will stop at Erfoud to discover local fossils, witnesses to the fascinating geological history of the region.

Finally, you will arrive in Merzouga, where your camel guide will be waiting to take you to the camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will then have the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent sunset over the dunes and enjoy a delicious dinner around the campfire. Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Nkob – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the camp. You will begin your return to Merzouga on the back of a camel, once again enjoying the peaceful beauty of the desert. Once back in Merzouga, you will take the road towards Rissani. Where you will visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Chrif Alaoui, a sacred site that bears witness to the history and spirituality of the region.

Then you will continue your journey to Nkob. Where you will have the opportunity to have lunch in a traditional kasbah, imbuing your experience with the authenticity of local cuisine. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey towards Agdz. Where you will visit the famous Tamnougalt kasbah, a historic fortress that offers a fascinating insight into local culture and architecture.

Finally, you will continue your journey to Marrakech, passing through Ouarzazate and the majestic High Atlas Mountains. You’ll marvel at the spectacular scenery around you as you pass through picturesque mountain passes and verdant valleys. Your trip will conclude with your return to your accommodation in Marrakech, where you can rest and recall the unforgettable memories of your desert adventure.
