4 days from Fez to Marrakech via the desert

Day 1: Fez – Ifran – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

Departure from your accommodation in Fez towards the Merzouga desert. Promising a day rich in discoveries and varied landscapes. We will first cross the charming town of Ifrane, often nicknamed “Moroccan Switzerland”. Then we will stop at Azrou where you can observe the monkeys in their natural habitat.

Then we will continue our journey to Midelt, where we will take a break for lunch and regain strength. In the afternoon, we will cross the spectacular Ziz valley towards Errachidia and Erfoud. With a planned visit to the Fossil Museum to discover the fascinating geological history of the region.

At the end of the afternoon, we will arrive in Merzouga. Where a unique experience awaits you: a camel ride to reach the camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent sunset over the dunes. Then spend an unforgettable evening around the campfire, under the desert stars. Dinner will be served in a friendly and authentic atmosphere, before spending a restful night in Berber tents, soaking up the magic of the desert.

Day 2: Merzouga

The day will begin with the enchanting spectacle of the sunrise above the golden dunes of the desert. After being amazed by this magical moment, you will have a hearty breakfast to start the day off right.

Then, you will return to the village on camel back to find our vehicle, ready to continue our exploration. We will visit the village of Gnaouas, soaking up its culture and fascinating history. Next, we will head to Sarji Lake, a haven of peace in the middle of the desert. Where you can relax and admire the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

We will continue our excursion to the Mifis Mines, discovering the history and mining activity of the region. You will also have the unique opportunity to share an authentic moment with local nomads, sharing tea in their tents and exchanging stories and traditions.

After lunch, we will return to Merzouga for another camel adventure to your camp in the dunes. You will have the privilege of enjoying another magnificent sunset over the desert. Followed by a memorable evening to the sound of Berber music around the campfire. Dinner will be served in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Before spending a restful night under the stars, lulled by the tranquility of the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga – Zagora

After leaving the dunes of Erg Chebbi on the back of a camel and returning to the village of Merzouga, we will find our vehicles to continue our journey. Our next destination will be Rissani, where we will have the opportunity to discover the large Tafilalt market, renowned for its liveliness and authenticity. Next, we will visit the mausoleum of Molay Ali Cherif Alaoui, an important historical site in the region.

Afterwards, we will head towards Zagora using the caravan route, a route steeped in history and mystery. Along the way, we will pass through picturesque landscapes, including the villages of Tazarine and Taghbalt. We will make a stop to visit the nomads in a desert plateau called Hamada, where you can discover their traditional way of life and exchange authentic moments with them.

Finally, we will arrive at the luxury camp in Zagora, where you can relax and soak up the serene desert atmosphere. A delicious dinner will be served to you in this enchanting setting, before spending a restful night under the twinkling stars of the desert, letting you be lulled by the magic of this fascinating environment.

Day 4: Zagora – Agdz – Ait ben haddou – Marrakech

After a hearty breakfast, we will begin our journey to Marrakech along the picturesque Draa Valley, famous for its magnificent Berber villages and green palm groves. Our first stop will be Agdz, where we will have the opportunity to visit the fascinating Tamnougalt kasbah, testimony to the history and culture of the region.

Then, we will head to Ouarzazate, nicknamed the “gate to the desert”, where we will discover the famous Kasbah Taourirt, former residence of the powerful lords of the region, as well as the cinema studios which have hosted numerous Hollywood film shoots.

Our journey will then take us to the majestic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will have the opportunity to discover this impressive historical site and delve into its fascinating past.

Finally, we will cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking panoramic views of picturesque Berber villages and mountainous landscapes. We will make several stops for photos along this spectacular route.

At the end of the day, we will drop you off at your hotel in Marrakech, thus ending this day rich in discoveries and varied landscapes.
