4 Days from Marrakech to the dunes of Merzouga. This superb tour from Marrakech to the desert of Morocco. You will discover the famous kasbahs and oases of southeastern Morocco. You will spend two nights in the Sahara bivouac, and you will admire the sunset over the dunes. The Marrakech desert trip will continue to discover the kasbahs and oases of the Draa Valley before returning to Marrakech.
► 4 days from Marrakech to Merzouga dunes itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait ben haddou – Dades Gorges
Departure from your accommodation in Marrakech to Ouarzazate, via Tizi n tichka. We stop in Telouat to visit the Glaoui kasbah, then we cross the valley of Ounila to the famous kasbah of Ait ben haddou, after the guided tour from the kasbah, we continue our journey to the film studios and the kasbah of Taourirte, then we will move on to visit the kasbah of Amridil. We then cross the valley of roses and the town of Kelaa Mgouna, to follow the Dades valley to the gorges where we will spend the night in a typical hotel with dinner.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast at your hotel, we continue our journey through the desert to Boumalne where we stop to take some beautiful photos. From there we will follow the road that separates the two chains of the High and the Anti Atlas to Tinghir, here we will visit the old Jewish village. We continue to the Todra gorges where our lunch will be served, after a hike between the gorges we go to the dunes of Merzouga, passing through Tinjdad and Jorf, stopping in Erfoud to visit a fossil museum, then we continue to Merzouga, here your camel guide will take you for an hour and a half on camel back to the camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will enjoy the sunset and magical night under the stars, dinner and sleep in nomadic tents.
Day 3: Merzouga
After breakfast you will be transported on camels to the village of Merzouga, then we go to explore the desert landscape, we will visit the nomads living in tents you will discover their life and share with them a tea, then we will visit a lake in the dunes, to take beautiful photos, then we go to the Khamliya village, discover the gnaoua music, after lunch we leave for Merzouga to meet our camels and return to our camp between the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you enjoy ‘a Berber music show around the campfire. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
We will return to Marrakech via the Draa Valley. After breakfast, meet you camels who will transport you to the village of Merzouga, then we will go to Rissani, here we will visit the big market of Tafilalte and the Molay Ali Chrif Alaoui mausoleum, then we will follow the magnificent road of the palm grove of Tazarine , we will have lunch in the Berber village of Nkob in a kasbah, in the afternoon, we cross the Draa valley, towards Agdz to visit the kasbah of Tamnougalte, from there we go to Ouarzazate then we cross the High Atlas mountains, we will arrive at your accommodation in Marrakech at the end of the day.
