Trekking in Morocco desert 10 days

Day 01: arrival at the airport

After your arrival in Marrakech or Ouarzazate, we will welcome you warmly and transfer you to your hotel. We’ll make sure your installation goes smoothly so you can relax after your trip. Depending on what time you arrive, you may have some free time to explore the city or relax at your leisure. Whether you arrive in Marrakech or Ouarzazate, our team will be there to ensure that you have a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Day 02: Marrakech or Ouarzazate – transfer to Zagora (Elfaïja). 390 km from Marrakech. 190 km from Ouarzazate.

After a comfortable transfer by vehicle, we will leave in the direction of Zagora. Passing through the majestic High Atlas mountains and the city of Ouarzazate. Along the way, you can admire the varied and spectacular landscapes of the region. Including the green valleys and lush palm groves of the Draa Valley.

We will stop to contemplate the breathtaking panoramas offered by the High Atlas mountain and the historic city of Ouarzazate. Then, we will continue our route through the Draa valley, renowned for its green oases and picturesque Berber villages.

As we approach Zagora, we will cross a plateau offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area, to the foot of Jbel Bani, where we will meet our camel team. Together we will settle into our camp or the night, where a delicious traditional Berber dinner awaits us under the twinkling desert stars. It will be an unforgettable experience in the heart of the fascinating landscapes of southern Morocco.

Day 03: Elfaija – Dyabi Oasis

Through a steep path, we will begin the climb towards the Jbel Bani pass, a fossilized massif dating from the primary era. From this summit you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the Elfija plateau, offering a breathtaking spectacle.

After this rewarding ascent, we will begin a descent through a ravine until reaching the Assif d’Oumsafi. We will then continue our exploration across another rocky plateau, where a few acacia trees and solitary palm trees punctuate the landscape, often frequented by nomads crossing the region.

Continuing along the Assif, we will be lulled by the soothing murmur of the river until reaching the Dyabi oasis. This is where we will set up camp for the night, where a delicious Berber dinner will be served to us under the twinkling desert stars. This day, rich in discoveries and varied landscapes, will offer you total immersion in the wild beauty of southern Morocco.

Day 04: Dyabi Oasis – wad Lamhasser.

This day will be devoted to a walk along the Assif Mhasser, offering an almost lunar landscape with rudimentary vegetation dotted with limestone and ironstone. You will be captivated by the stark beauty of this desert region as you journey through this striking setting.

Along the way, you will have the opportunity to meet nomadic desert herders, learning about their traditional way of life and their close connection to this arid environment.

For lunch, we will stop at Amda n’Oumsafy, where you can regain your strength by enjoying an invigorating meal in the heart of the desert.

After lunch, we will continue our walk across a semi-plateau dotted with acacia trees, providing an interesting contrast to the previous rocky landscape.

Finally, we will set up camp at the exit of Lwad, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner carefully prepared by our team. As night falls over the desert, you can let yourself be lulled by the soothing silence of this wild nature and spend a night under the twinkling stars, in a breathtaking setting.

Day 05: wad Lamhasser – Chegaga dunes

During this stage, we will continue our walk across the desert plateau. Crossing a landscape that is both vast and captivating. In the afternoon, we will begin our crossing of small sand dunes along the wadi. Where the Calotropis plant, endemic to this region, adds a unique touch of greenery to this arid desert.

As you move forward, you will be enveloped by the tranquility of the desert and can admire the changing nuances of the landscape under the soft light of the setting sun. Arriving at the foot of the majestic Chegaga dunes. We will have the privilege of witnessing an extraordinary natural spectacle: the sunset over the dunes, a magical and unforgettable moment.

After being amazed by this spectacle, we will settle in for the night at the foot of the dunes. Where a delicious Berber dinner will be served to us under a sparkling starry sky. The peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking beauty of the sand dunes will offer you a unique camping experience, in communion with the pure and authentic nature of the desert.

Day 06: Chegag Dune – Bouguerne Dune

After leaving the majestic dunes of Chegaga. Our day of walking will begin by crossing a plateau dotted with small hills. We will walk through this varied landscape until we reach Wadi Laatach, where large tamarisk trees offer welcome shelter. We will continue our journey across a vast plateau, absorbing the grandeur and tranquility of the desert around us.

At the end of the day, we will arrive at the impressive dunes of Bouguerne. Where we will have the chance to witness another breathtaking natural spectacle: the sunset. The magical atmosphere that reigns in this desert setting will add an extra dimension to this unforgettable experience. We will settle at the foot of the great dune of Bouguernes for dinner and spend the night, soaked in the beauty and serenity of the desert.

Day 07: Bouguerne dune – Oued Naam

We will begin our day crossing rocky plateaus and small dunes. Continuing our journey through the desert expanses until reaching our next camp at Oued Naam. Where we will be greeted by majestic dunes. After a day of walking, we will have the opportunity to relax and soak up the tranquility of the desert. Dinner will be followed by a restful night at the camp, under a starry sky and in harmony with the surrounding nature.

Day 08: Oued Naam – Olad halyard village

After breakfast, we will set off to reach the first village of the Draa valley, Mhamid, via Old-Driss. Our route will take us through tamarisk oases and sand dunes. Offering picturesque views all the way to our final destination, the Draa Palm Grove. We will take the time to take a lunch break and perhaps take a little invigorating nap. In the evening, we will settle into a campsite located in the heart of the Old-Driss palm grove. Where we can enjoy the tranquility of this natural environment and spend a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 9: Olad-driss / Marrakech or ouarzazate

Crossing Tamegroute, Zagora, then Ouarzazate. We will have the opportunity to discover a diversity of landscapes and cultures throughout the journey. Tamegroute is renowned for its ancient library housing historical manuscripts, while Zagora offers a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of the Draa Valley, famous for its lush palm groves. Finally, Ouarzazate, located at the gateway to the High Atlas, seduces with its traditional architecture and its historic sites, including the Kasbah of Taourirt. This trip will be a true immersion in the cultural and natural wealth of Morocco.

Day 10: Departure transfer for return flights
