3 Days from Marrakech to the Chegaga desert

Your day will begin with departure from your accommodation in Marrakech at 7:30 a.m. towards Ouarzazate. You will cross the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Offering spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains, before reaching the famous Kasbah of Telouat, bearing witness to the fascinating history of the region.

Then, you will continue to the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Where you will have the opportunity to experience traditional Berber architecture and culture. Your journey will continue to local film studios and the Taourirte kasbah in Ouarzazate. Testifying to the importance of the region in the film industry.

After enjoying an invigorating lunch, you will take the road to Agdz. Where you will visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt, offering a fascinating insight into traditional life in Moroccan oases. Finally, you will spend the night in a typical hotel in Agdz. Where you can enjoy a delicious Berber dinner and soak up the warm atmosphere of this picturesque region.

After a delicious breakfast, our day will begin with a visit to the famous Koranic library of Tamgrout. Renowned for its collection of ancient manuscripts and its rich history. You will have the opportunity to discover this cultural treasure and learn more about the intellectual tradition of Morocco.

Then we will head to M’hamid village, a gateway to the Moroccan desert, where you can feel the authentic atmosphere of desert life.

From there, our journey will take us to the great dunes of Chegaga, one of the most impressive sand formations in the Sahara. When we arrive at the camp, you will have the pleasure of going on a camel ride through the dunes, an unforgettable experience which will allow you to admire the spectacular landscapes of the desert.

At the end of the day, you will have the chance to witness a magnificent sunset over the dunes, a breathtaking spectacle that transforms the desert into a true living painting. Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with local ingredients and spend the night under the stars in traditional nomadic tents, where you can admire the splendor of the starry desert sky.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the camp, we will begin our return journey to Marrakech.

Our first stop will be the dry lake of Iriki, where we can admire the vast expanses of desert landscape and enjoy the serene atmosphere of this unique place. Next, we will pass through the picturesque Berber villages of Fam Zgide and Taznakht, famous for their artisanal production of Berber carpets. You will have the opportunity to visit local shops where these rugs are made by local women, and perhaps even purchase one as a souvenir of your trip.

We will continue our route to Marrakech passing through Ouarzazate, a city famous for its film studios and its rich cultural heritage. We will then cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking panoramic views along the way. At the end of the day, we will drop you off at your hotel in Marrakech, where you can relax and reminisce about your unforgettable trip to the Moroccan desert.
